This issue covers the Association’s diesels from thepre-WWII introduction of their first units to 1999. Due to the steam exhaustfrom all the different railroads that served the metropolitan area, pollutionbecame a major issue such that a Smoke Abatement Board was convened to protectthe citizenry. Although there were numerous other, probably larger,contributors to the problem, the railroads were an easy target. Steam ended itsreign on the TRRA in 1955. This issue takes a look at all of the classesincluding: SW-1, S-1/2, VO-660/1000. NW-2, H10-44, LS-1200, SW-9/1200/1500,S-12, RS-3, SD-9, and GP38-2. B&W images with a color cover.
