Issue #79 (2019) presents the Manufacturer’s Railway, nicknamed the \"Beer Baron’s Railway.\" Adolphus Busch, head of the Anheuser-Busch brewing empire, was the founder and first president of the MRC. The switchingrailroad operated largely in South St. Louis, west of First Street, offeringservice to all industries in that area as well as connections to the St. Louis,Iron Mountain & Southern (later Missouri Pacific). Beer, food, paint, baking, lumber, tanneries,glass, coal, metal working, beverages, and an endless list of customers were onthis switching line.
