- Front number ET.4824R and back number D 4
- Printed in Gt. Britain.Tower Bridge is a Grade I listed combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. Designed by City Architect Sir Horace Jones and engineered by Sir John Wolfe Barry, it crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London. The bridge was constructed to ease road traffic for London\'s rapidly growing East End population while maintaining river access to the busy Pool of London docks.Today, Tower Bridge remains one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. While river traffic is much reduced from the 1890s when it opened over 6,000 times a year, the bascules are still raised approximately 800 times annually. Shipping and Handling:
