Traditional Oaxacan Folk Dance Woodcut Print Art Handmade Mexican Guelaguetza For Sale

This is a Largesize un-framed woodcut print of a the traditional Oaxacan Dance often seen at Guelaguetzadance festivals this image has a Crocodile dressed in the traditional clothing of a woman from the Isthmus ofTehuantepecdancing with a man wearing peasant clothing. This woodcut is done in Black ink on a Cream Color paper.It was createdby a very talented artist by the name of Gabriel Angel Perez working in Aguascalientes, but he is originally fromOaxaca Mexico and is of Zapotec descent. His work is derived from sacred rituals and spiritual moments taken from Zapotec Culture. Recently his work was included in a small exhitbition at the Columbian Embassy in Columbia and in January of next year he will be in an exhibition at the Museum of Oaxacan Painters. In addition to his own prints, Gabriel teaches woodcut printing to children in rural areas in an effort to keep this style of artwork alive in future generations.

The overallsize of this print 20 1/2 inches tall by 14 1/2 inches wide.
