Martinka Template Tricks - David Ben
There\'s a considerable difference between magic that looks good on paper and magic that has been worked out in front of real audiences, and that\'s one of the things I like about David Ben\'s Tricks.
Ben is an accomplished professional magician, and much of the material here comes from his own performing repertoire, developed and refined over some twenty years. You\'ll find close-up magic, card work, mentalism, platform effects, and material from his theatrical productions of The Conjuror.
What makes the book particularly worthwhile is the thinking behind the tricks. Ben has a real appreciation for the classics, but rather than simply reproducing them, he looks for ways to make them stronger, more practical, and better suited to modern performance.
This is not really a beginner\'s book. But for someone who appreciates thoughtful, well-constructed magic, there\'s a great deal here worth studying
See you on the next one, Ted
