FUN 7016 FACTS:The blade of the CRKT 7016 is fashioned from 8Cr13MoV, a high-carbon, martensitic stainless steel austenitized and tempered to an operational hardness range of 58–60 HRC. The alloy composition is balanced to achieve high corrosion resistance and straightforward field serviceability, making it responsive to standard abrasives and ceramic sharpening rods.
The blade geometry is characterized across technical documentation as a modified Wharncliffe or a needle-tipped spear point. It features a continuous, subtle edge belly that transitions into an acute distal piercing tip.
The primary bevel features a shallow hollow grind across a narrow 0.75-inch blade width. This grind ensures thin material behind the cutting edge for clean cutting through fibrous substrates while maintaining structural integrity near the pivot.
