Hand-painted ceramic wall plate made in Kütahya, Turkey. The back is marked “Made in Turkey / Güven Çini F.B. / Kütahya.” Approximately 12.5 inches in diameter.The plate features detailed blue, turquoise, green, and rust-colored geometric decoration. The Arabic phrase repeated around the border, “ولا غالب إلا الله,” translates as “There is no victor but God.” It is a historic motto associated with the Nasrids of Granada. The smaller central inscription may beبسم الله الرحمن الرحيمBismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm“In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.”
This plate may date to the mid-20th century, but it is not dated, so its exact age is unknown.
