Vintage unmarked single-bit axe featuring pronounced phantom bevels on both cheeks. The head has a broad cutting edge and substantial poll, with an attractive older forged profile.
The axe is fitted with a new old stock 24” Rixford marked wood handle. The Rixford marking applies to the handle only; no maker’s marking was found on the axe head.
The head shows normal age, surface pitting, grind marks, and wear from previous use. Cutting edge has been sharpened. Handle shows light storage/handling marks consistent with old stock.

CONDITION
Vintage condition with surface wear, pitting, scratches, and evidence of previous sharpening and use. No visible maker’s stamp on the head. Newly hung on a new old stock Rixford handle. Please inspect photos closely for exact condition.
