This is an amazing, rare find! It is a vintage Leitz Wetzlar large laboratory professional research/clinical microscope. It is a Dialux version from Germany. It has binocular lenses, a quadruple rotating 4 part lens, a 35 mm photomicrography film back camera on the top and an additional blue lens that swings open. It also has a Lietz soft case/dust cover that fits on top when the camera assembly is removed. It definitely appears to be from a scientific or research laboratory!
We bought this at a vintage estate sale. We do not know any specific details about it. It all seems to move and work as designed, however. The back is stamped with a serial number 854178 and the word Germany. Many pieces are stamped Germany or Leitz Wetzlar. This is one of the companies higher ended microscopes dating to the 1970s based upon the serial number.
We took LOTS of pictures, please see them for reference. We do not know the names of all the components that are included. we looked at all attachments and lenses and everything appears to be in good shape with the lenses being clear. Please ask any questions before offerding.
This is heavy and tall! When fully assembled it is approximately 23” tall, 9” across and 12” deep. It weighs approximately 20 pounds.
