VINTAGE LAGUNA PUEBLO POLYCHROME OLLA/ JAR SIGNED EVELYN CHEROMIAH ca 1990. Purchased directly from artist in 1991; oral history this olla won second prize at 1990 New Mexico state fair competition. Excellent condition: No chips, flea bites, cracks, pigment loss, scuffs, etc....as purchased from artist. Large size - approx. 12" high by 13.75" wide. Several iterations of this E. Cheromiah design exist, but as known to me this is the largest example. See Generations in Clay, page 48. Another smaller example viewed recently at Santa Fe gallery. Evelyn Cheromiah is justly recognized as a modern matriarch among indigenous southwest potters. Not many opportunities exist to purchase an important olla such as this. Shipping cost reflects both size and precautions for packing. No returns.
