VTG 1930s Chic Pak 3 Pc Powder Set Marbled Yellow Urea Formaldehyde Bakelite Sim For Sale

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. This is a vintage 1930s Chic Pak complete 3-piece “marbled yellow” powder set made in England c. 1934. The set includes a powder bowl, puff tray and lid (no puff included). This was made with urea formaldehyde, which is slightly different from Bakelite. (Bakelite is phenol formaldehyde and was limited to dark brownish colors.) Both types of early “synthetic plastics” were common in the Art Deco era. The patent number on the bottom was applied for in 1933 and was issued in 1934.
