This unusual STAN\'KA Roly-Poly / Wobble Figurine is an original surviving piece from a sports collectible project created in 1994.
The NHL series was developed and produced as an officially licensed National Hockey League product, using approved designs. Each figurine was individually handcrafted and hand-painted by skilled artists, making every surviving example slightly different and unique.
Handmade in Ukraine.
Unlike an ordinary stationary sports figurine, STAN\'KA was designed to move.
Gently tilt or push the figurine and its specially weighted internal mechanism causes it to rock from side to side and then return to the upright position on its own — the traditional Roly-Poly principle.
As the figurine rocks, an internal bell mechanism produces a pleasant melodic chime, adding another unusual dimension to the piece.
Each figurine was individually shaped from wood, hand-painted by an artist, and finished with a protective coating. Because of this handmade process, even two figurines representing the same team are never completely identical.
FROM THE ORIGINAL COLLECTION
I was involved in creating and producing the original STAN\'KA sports figurine project in the 1990s.
While the licensed NHL series was being produced, I personally kept selected examples from the original production for my own collection, as well as for my family and friends.
These pieces remained in my personal collection for more than 30 years.
I am now gradually offering selected surviving examples from this collection to collectors.
This is not simply another modern mass-produced hockey souvenir. It is a surviving handmade piece from an unusual 1990s NHL collectible project, combining sports memorabilia, traditional woodworking, hand painting, and the distinctive self-righting musical STAN\'KA mechanism.
