VTG Handcrafted Fine Woven Wood Vase/Jar with Lid, Folk Art of Latin AmericaSigned 7\" H x 4.5\" W
The item depicted in the image is a lidded folk art vase that is meticulously decorated with Barniz de Pasto (mopa-mopa) or miniature straw inlay work. This specific style has its roots in South and Central American traditions and is particularly reminiscent of Colombian Barniz de Pasto techniques or delicate wheat-straw (tamiz) collage methods. These techniques involve overlaying vibrant, natural fibers onto a dark wooden body, creating detailed and textured pastoral scenes.
The vase features two figures outside a rustic cottage under a large tree, and it is framed by patterned geometric borders at both the base and the rim.
Brand New and never been used. The Lid is still originally sealed.
Please disregard any glare, reflection, or cast shadow.
