Vintage Native American Hopi pottery jar, featuring traditional polychrome geometric and eagle-tail designs. Hopi-Tewa polychrome pottery, likely inspired by ancient Sikyatki revival styles. Pottery hand-coiled and painted using natural pigments and handmade brushes. Similar jars from this period are frequently attributed to noted potters such as Nampeyo of Hano or her descendants. Jar is estimated to be from the 1930s to 1950s.
Wear and rub to painted design, flaking of paint in several areas, and staining inside of pot as shown in example photos. Several scratches or possible hairline cracks present around rim on the inside and outside of pot.
