VTG Monumental Vintage Terracotta Candlesticks Raised Rose Relief 15\" Pair For Sale

A spectacular pair of monumental-scale vintage terracotta candlesticks with raised rose relief and hand-painted floral decoration.

Standing approximately 15 inches tall, these are unusually large and substantial candlesticks with wonderful architectural presence. Their sculptural stacked forms rise from broad flared bases and are finished in a beautifully distressed palette of muted sage green, warm terracotta, soft cream and blush.

The lower portion of each candlestick is embellished with raised white roses in relief, surrounded by delicately hand-painted pink and purple flowers and green foliage. The combination of dimensional relief and painted decoration gives the pair exceptional texture and visual interest.

The intentionally distressed finish reveals areas of warm terracotta beneath the painted surface, creating a wonderfully aged, collected appearance. These are striking decorative objects even without candles and would be beautiful on a large dining table, console, sideboard, mantel or entry table.

Their monumental scale and romantic, timeworn finish complement Old World, Mediterranean-inspired, European country, bohemian and eclectic interiors.

Measurements, each approximately:

15\" H
6 3/4\" base diameter
5 1/2\" at widest point
1 1/2\" candle opening

Accommodates a standard taper candle.

Vintage condition with intentionally distressed and weathered surface character. Variations in coloration, rubbing and surface irregularities contribute to the aged appearance. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and individual characteristics.
