Up for sale is a fantastic piece of firefighting history: a vintage Defender 2.5-Gallon Soda-Acid Fire Extinguisher, manufactured by the historic Schwartz Bros. Inc. out of Philadelphia, PA.
This heavy-duty industrial relic features a beautiful, solid copper body wrapped in highly detailed, deeply embossed brass instructional plates. The front features the classic \"FOR FIRE TURN UPSIDE DOWN\" raised text, alongside the original Underwriters\' Laboratories inspection tag.
Condition Notes:
- Exterior: This piece features an incredible, authentic aged patina with beautiful natural oxidation and minimal wear. There are standard minor character dings expected with a genuine piece of this age, adding to its industrial, steampunk aesthetic. It has not been polished, allowing the buyer the choice to preserve its rustic vintage look or buff it to a mirror-like shine.
- Status: This unit is completely EMPTY and sold strictly as a historical collectible/decorative display piece. It is not functional.
Hose/Internal: Includes original rubber hose and red nozzle tip as shown in photos.
Internal Components Included:
Unique from many other listings, this extinguisher includes its original internal metal bottle cage and the internal glass acid bottle resting inside. The glass bottle appears intact with no visible cracks around the top rim.
This is the ultimate accent piece for a mancave, home bar, garage, or a centerpiece for an antique firefighting memorabilia collection.
