Victorian James Dixon & Sons EPBM Silver Plate Toast / Letter Rack c.19th C
Elegant and scarce antique toast rack by James Dixon & Sons, a respected Sheffield silversmith active during the Victorian era. Crafted in EPBM (Electro Plated Britannia Metal), this piece features a classic arched wire form with multiple dividers, a decorative loop handle, and a shaped oval base with a beaded edge—hallmarks of refined English tableware from the late 19th century.
Originally designed as a toast rack, this versatile piece is equally well suited today as a letter or desk rack, making it both functional and highly decorative. The underside is clearly marked James Dixon & Sons, confirming authenticity and English origin.
The silver plate presents a warm antique patina consistent with age, enhancing its character and appeal to collectors of Victorian silver, Sheffield plate, or traditional English décor.
