Original! Good vintage condition as shown, with a few chips and some signs of wear in parts.
Harold's Club or Bust! License Plate Topper, Shaped like a covered wagon pulled by oxen with the slogan "Harold's Club or Bust!" and "Reno, Nevada". 14 x 8 inches.
Harold's Club was a historic casino established in Reno in 1935, and these promotional plate toppers were popular automotive memorabilia from the 1950s.
The Maker's Mark: On the bottom right corner, it explicitly reads "VERNON CO. NEWTON, IA". The Vernon Company was the authentic mid-century manufacturer contracted to produce these promotional toppers for the Harold's Club Casino in Reno. Modern reproductions almost universally omit this manufacturer text entirely or use flat, modern fonts.
