Vintage 1954 Henry Disston & Sons National Hardware Special Hand Saw
Offered here is an unusual vintage Henry Disston & Sons “National Hardware Special” hand saw from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This example features a 26-inch blade, 8-point tooth configuration, decorative carved/embellished wooden handle, original hardware and Disston medallion. The blade retains its distinctive etched marking reading “DISSTON National Hardware Special – Henry Disston & Sons, Inc. – Philadelphia, PA U.S.A.”
The National Hardware Special is a much more interesting variation than the standard Disston saws commonly encountered and makes an excellent addition to a vintage woodworking-tool or Disston collection.

Condition: This is an unrestored vintage tool showing honest age and use. The blade has oxidation, dark spotting, scratches and discoloration. The factory etching remains visible and readable. The wooden handle has finish loss, scratches, marks and other age-related wear but displays very nicely. Please enlarge and examine all photographs, as they are an important part of the description. Please note the red paint splatter on handle.
