Offered is a collectible pair of early Walt Disney World publications documenting the development and opening era of the Florida resort.
The highlight is the 1969 “A Complete Edition About Walt Disney World – The Vacation Kingdom of the World.” This scarce pre-opening publication was produced while Walt Disney World was still under development and includes early concept art, maps, photographs, resort plans and descriptions of attractions and developments envisioned for the Florida property. A period message from Roy O. Disney is also included within the publication.
The second publication is the 1971 “The Story of Walt Disney World” Commemorative Edition, produced during Walt Disney World's opening year. It provides a behind-the-scenes look at the newly completed Vacation Kingdom with extensive photography, illustrations and early park imagery.
Together these make an excellent chronological pair covering Walt Disney World immediately before and during its historic opening period.
