Vintage 1981 Riverside California License Plate Frame
Vintage 1981 booster frame made by TCC (The Collector's Choice) Medium-weight die-cast, chrome plated, with a stylized suburban home logo and two-part construction. Main frame is cast with the slogan across the top, hand stenciled and brush painted. Footer carries a period decal, still well affixed. Unrestored, gently cleaned and waxed, no repaint.
A genuine time capsule piece. My frames come from a family-run network of new and used car dealerships that operated throughout Southern California from the 1960s to the 1980s. This one would have been pulled from a trade-in car between 1984 and 1986 and stored ever since.
Condition
- Overall good vintage condition; chrome finish is bright and sits flat.
- Notable hand-finished quality to the top lettering, showing original enamel brush/screen strokes alongside assembly-line precision.
- Original "In Riverside" decal is well preserved with no peeling; one light surface scratch on the letter "N."
- Paint loss on the top header where mounting screws originally rubbed against the raised lettering.
- Cast edges remain unfiled from the factory, a bit sharp, just the way this maker produced theirs.
- Authentic 1981 copyright and TCC maker's mark are clearly visible in the casting.
