Up for sale is a uniquely detailed, custom commemorative military shadow box dating to 2002. This beautifully preserved souvenir honors the post-9/11 defense alliance between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These frames were typically acquired by U.S. service members (such as the Air Force's 363rd Air Expeditionary Wing) stationed at regional hubs like Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) before the primary U.S. forces transitioned out of the kingdom.
The display features a chocolate-chip desert camouflage fabric matting backdrop and an ornate golden border frame. Inside, it showcases a two-piece miniature replica of a traditional Jambiya / Khanjar dagger with its decorative silver-tone scabbard.
Key Visual Elements Included:
• Crossed flags of the United States and Saudi Arabia at the top.
• The vertical phonetic English greeting "Halan Shalan" (traditional Arabic Ahlan wa Sahlan, meaning "Welcome"), alongside its corresponding vertical Arabic script on the opposite side.
• Cultural graphics along the bottom featuring a camel, a palm tree, the Saudi national emblem (crossed swords), and "SAUDI ARABIA" text.
