Striking vintage Mexican folk art angel by renowned Oaxacan artists Jacobo and María Ángeles, dated 2006. Hand-carved and hand-painted in San Martín Tilcajete, Oaxaca, Mexico, this unusual figure features a vivid green robe covered in intricate geometric and foliate designs with dramatic red watermelon-slice wings complete with black seed details.
The underside is hand inscribed “Hecho por: Jacobo y Maria Angeles / San Martin Tilcajete / Oax. Mexico / 2006” with artist mark/signature. Approximately 8" tall as shown. Jacobo and María Ángeles are internationally recognized for their highly detailed Oaxacan wood carvings and distinctive hand-painted designs.
