Beautiful pair of vintage African hand-carved wooden serving utensils, featuring wonderful primitive folk art character, sculptural forms, and rich, dark aged patina. Each measures approximately 24 inches long and is individually carved from a single piece of solid wood. One features a deep, rounded ladle bowl, while the other has an unusual broad, shallow paddle-shaped serving bowl.Especially interesting are the hand-incised geometric patterns, repeating triangular carvings, and distinctive angular handle details. The irregular shapes, softened edges, and naturally worn surfaces give these pieces tremendous character.Likely traditional African household utensils, these may have originally been used for preparing or serving food. Similar forms appear in documented Zulu/Nguni wooden spoon traditions of southern AfricaDetails:* Set of two hand-carved wooden utensils
