Antique Baltimore & Ohio Railroad heavy forged double open-end wrench.
Original railroad tool measuring approximately 13.75 inches long and weighing approximately 1 lb. 10.4 oz.
The wrench is clearly stamped “B & O” on the handle, identifying it as a Baltimore & Ohio Railroad-marked tool. An additional “H” marking and several other manufacturer/forging/size marks are present as shown in the photographs.
Heavy forged steel construction with offset heads designed to provide clearance during use. This is a substantial industrial wrench and an excellent example of an early railroad maintenance/shop tool.
Condition is original and unrestored with considerable age-related surface oxidation, old finish loss, scratches, pitting, discoloration and general working wear. The wrench shows obvious evidence of actual use. No attempt has been made to remove the original patina or restore the tool.
