Beautiful vintage Bing & Grøndahl Butterfly / Sommerfugl porcelain teapot, made in Denmark. This classic blue-and-white Danish porcelain teapot features delicate hand-painted floral and butterfly-style vine decoration, a graceful curved handle and spout, and a matching fitted lid with blue finial.
The underside is marked with the B&G three-tower mark, “Kjøbenhavn,” “Made in Denmark,” and number 820. Based on this backstamp, the piece appears to date to the mid-1950s, likely 1952–1957.
I have old family photos with these in the background. They belong to my mother and have been kept in pristine condition. See the photo of the handle as there is what appears to be a hairline crack perhaps upon manufacturing. It doesn't go through to the other side, back or front and isn't visible unless you look for it. Price reflects this defect though.
A lovely collectible piece for fans of Danish porcelain, blue-and-white china, Scandinavian decor, or Bing & Grøndahl / Royal Copenhagen-style tableware.
I have both pieces in the last photo. Here's the link for the other Will combine shipping if allowed to your address. Please invoice prior to paying. **cross-posted**
