Striking vintage Bolivian pewter ashtray / decorative dish featuring bold raised Andean or Inca-inspired geometric motifs around the border and a contrasting gold-tone figural appliqué in the center.
The square form has four integrated cigarette rests at the corners and a recessed round center. The antiqued black detailing creates wonderful contrast against the silver-tone metal, while the warm brass-tone central figure gives the piece an especially distinctive South American folk-art look.
The underside is stamped “Made in Bolivia” and “Estaño,” indicating a tin/pewter-based metal construction.
Likely dating from approximately the 1960s–1980s, with a strong 1970s decorative aesthetic.
