Buck 111 lockback folding knife with fully engraved metal handles. Western-style scroll and floral engraving covers both sides, each with a blank textured banner nameplate in the center. Clip-point blade with nail nick. Typical closed length for this model is 4-7/8" with a 3-3/4" blade (not measured on this example). Appears unused.

The tang is stamped Buck / .111.. / U.S.A. The single dot before and two dots after the model number match Buck’s published date code for 1980–1981 production. The engraving pattern with blank banners matches the Buck 111 “Classic” engraved-handle version described by knife dealers; there is no box or paperwork here to confirm it, so please judge from the photos.

Comes in a clear vinyl sleeve that has yellowed with age. No box and no sheath are included. Knife shows no visible signs of use in the photos.

Description & History

Buck Knives traces its start to 1902, when Hoyt Buck made his first knife. The company introduced the Model 110 Folding Hunter lockback in 1964, and it became one of the best-known folding knives in America. The 111 is the smaller lockback in the same family.

From the mid-1970s into the mid-1980s, Buck marked 110/111/112-family knives with dots around the model number to show when they were made. This example’s .111.. stamp places it at 1980–1981, before Buck switched to symbol date codes in 1986.
