Up for sale is a stunning Vintage Chinese 3-Tier Lacquered Wedding / Food Basket featuring an ornate hand-painted porcelain insert on the top lid.
This piece consists of a wooden carrying frame with bentwood handles, three stacking trays (one shallow insert tray included), and a domed lid adorned with fine polychrome enamel artwork depicting traditional court maidens/scholars under plum blossom branches. The exterior is detailed in hand-painted gold, red, and black lacquer featuring floral motifs and stylized Chinese longevity/blessings characters. Dimensions: Stands approx. 18.5" high to the top of the handle, measures approx. 16" long across the handle, and 9.5" deep. Weight: Weighs approximately 10 lbs 7 oz. Condition: Excellent vintage condition overall. Shows minor expected surface age wear, light chipping/rubbing on the frame corners and lacquer edges as pictured.
