Beautiful vintage Chinese porcelain ginger jar with its matching lid, decorated with an elaborate floral and flowering-tree design in famille rose-style enamels.The decoration includes chrysanthemums and other blossoms and foliage in shades of pink, green, blue, red and yellow, with extensive hand-applied outlining and a distinctive stippled background. The matching lid has a blue ground with scrolling floral decoration.The underside is marked “244” in red/orange. This appears to be a production, pattern or decorator number rather than a traditional Chinese reign mark.Approximate size:
