This highly collectible set represents a historic collaboration between two iconic American tool brands of the early 20th century, featuring a Clauss knife handle and a premium pair of miniature Smith & Hemenwaypliers.
Component Details • The Knife Handle: Features the classic, stylized cursive Clauss script tang stamp on the master blade, with faint remnants of the Fremont, O. (Ohio) location stamp beneath it. The handle scales are solid wood with tight rivets and heavy nickel silver bolsters designed to securely lock the attachments into place. The blade shows a beautiful, natural age patina with no signs of aggressive grinding. • The Pliers Attachment: Stamped clearly with S & H CO. 50-4 alongside the famous S&H "Handy" Clover/Key logo. These are the highly sought-after 4.5-inch side-cutting lineman pliers, manufactured right before Smith & Hemenway was acquired by Crescent Tool Co. in 1926. • Auxiliary Tool Attachments: Includes the full suite of original interchangeable bits: a hammer head tool, wood saw blade, metal file, chisel/scraper, awl/punch, and a screwdriver/pry tool. All tool tangs feature the standard notch mechanism to snap firmly into the knife frame. • The Leather Case: Includes the original brown leather tool roll pouch.
