Vintage Czech Art Deco Crystal Vanity Set Dark Amber Perfume Bottles Tray Box For Sale

Four-piece Czech crystal vanity set with a stoppered perfume bottle, atomizer bottle, covered powder or trinket box, and long comb tray. Strong angular crystal with cut-to-clear dark amber geometric, satin-finished bands, fine lines, and circular accents. “Made in Czechoslovakia” is etched on the bases of the stoppered bottle and covered box.

This set is unsigned. Style is similar to Karl Palda, though we\'ve found no example that matches, including the specific design; likely an independent production. Technically, this is a pretty impressive set, using many different forms of manufacturing and finish.

The tray measures approx 8.5\" long. Stoppered bottle stands approx 6.5\" tall with stopper; covered box 4\" tall with its lid; and atomizer bottle 4.5\" tall. The atomizer retains its silver-colored spray head and nozzle, but no squeeze bulb/connecting hose. These are available aftermarket, though you\'ll need to match the correct fitting size. The set is in fair overall condition and not perfect, it displays well, but under scrutiny it does show its age. This is likely 1920-1935 production.

• Undersides show substantial surface scratching from use, no conservation performed.
• The tall perfume bottle’s glass stopper has been broken and glued back together, with some filler at the repair. It seats properly and feels stable. The repair is less conspicuous when the stopper is in place and clearly visible when it is removed.
• There is some residue inside the stoppered bottle.
• The atomizer’s squeeze bulb and connecting hose are missing. The spray mechanism has not been tested, the little chrome top bit has basically one thread that screws into the bottle housing and it\'s just kind of cinched down. We will wrap it with support, but be advised it might need to be re-seated when re-assembling the set for display.
• Scattered small fleabites and small marks, it\'s a busy set so again, shows well but this is not a perfect example.
