Ettore Dorini was a Florentine pipemaker who took over the historic Giuseppe Hlawatschek pipe works in 1890. Operating from Via del Proconsolo in Florence, Dorini produced handmade briar pipes, with period trade material specifically describing the shop’s pipes as hand-work rather than machine production.
This one is stamped simply E. DORINI / FIRENZE and is a stout old canted bulldog with a hell of a stance. Dorini is damn near forgotten today, but the maker wasn’t some mystery basket-pipe outfit — it was a legitimate Florentine workshop with roots stretching back to 1865.
An obscure piece of old-school Italian pipemaking from a name you just flat don’t run across anymore.
Professionally restored. Stem is 9/10. Come and take it.

I combine shipping on orders over $40 in the continental US, just ask!
Measurements available upon request.
My shipping is a little more than some. I use UPS (unless it's going to a PO Box or non contiguous US) because UPS has a 98% success rate versus USPS at 87.5%. I have a dedicated UPS representative who goes above and beyond in the rare case there is a shipping issue. Three-ish dollars is worth the peace of mind in my opinion.
