Up for sale is a beautiful, highly displayable piece of early 20th-century tobacciana: an original round George Washington Cut Plug tobacco canister.
This tin features a strikingly patriotic red, white, and blue wrap showcasing a classic portrait medallion of George Washington on both sides, flanked by the slogans "Greatest" and "American". Traces of the vintage paper tax stamp remain fixed down the side seam, adding excellent historical character.
Features & Condition:
- Wrap Graphics: Remarkably well-preserved. The colors are punchy, and the lithograph print has minimal scratching or fading compared to typical examples.
- Lid & Base: Comes complete with its original recessed lid. The lid has advanced surface rust and a deep dark patina from age. There are holes in it, as if to let light through?
