Elegant two-piece vintage executive desk set consisting of a large handheld magnifying glass and matching letter opener. Both pieces feature polished dark green stone-look handles with mottled black and lighter green figuring, paired with bright gold-tone fittings.
The matching design is characteristic of the decorative executive desk accessories popular in the late 20th century, when letter openers, magnifiers, pens and related writing accessories were commonly sold as coordinated office and library sets. Similar green marble and gold-tone desk accessories were produced in a wide range of configurations, but no maker\'s mark is visible on these pieces, so the manufacturer and exact handle material are unknown.
The magnifier has a substantial round glass lens approximately 3\" in diameter with an overall length of approximately 7\". The matching letter opener measures approximately 8\" long. The elongated gold-tone blade has a smooth, sculptural profile rather than a sharpened cutting edge.
The dark green handles have an attractive malachite or green-marble appearance. Because no identifying markings or documentation are present, they are described as green marble-look rather than genuine malachite or natural stone.
