Vintage hand-carved and hand-painted wooden Native American figure measuring approximately 4 inches tall.This unusual small folk-art / souvenir carving is carved in the form of a standing Native American man wearing a long green-gray coat or blanket-style garment and a large feathered headdress.The figure has a deeply hand-carved face with long dark hair on either side. The clothing is painted in muted green/gray with cream and yellow horizontal bands near the bottom, black painted fringe, and cream/white decorative elements on the front. The feet or moccasins are painted yellow.One of the most distinctive features is the large carved headdress extending down the entire back of the figure. It is painted primarily black with individually painted cream/white feather markings. The headdress, face, clothing, legs and feet all show hand-carved detailing.Approximate height: 4 inches.Wood construction. Hand carved and hand painted.Unmarked. I have found no visible artist signature, maker\'s mark, label or tribal identification.Exact age, maker, geographic origin and tribal affiliation are unknown. Additional paint wear is visible on the face, hair, green garment, edges, lower portion and yellow-painted feet/moccasins.The exposed bottoms of the feet show unfinished wood with age/use wear.
