The scene is constructed from contrasting pieces of natural wood and wood veneer, creating the cats, buildings, rooftops and landscape. The plaque has a simple black wooden frame and an original metal hanging bracket on the back.

• Approximately 6" tall
• Approximately 4" wide
• Approximately 3/8" thick
Condition:
Very good vintage condition overall. There are some minor surface marks/wear consistent with age and previous display. The wood inlay appears intact, with no obvious significant missing pieces or major damage. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.

The Unione Artigiani Intarsio Sorrentino mark is associated with the traditional intarsia/inlay craftsmanship of the Sorrento area of Italy. The SR54 designation appears to be a model/design number rather than a date.
Based on comparable examples, this appears to be a mid-to-late 20th-century vintage Sorrento-area intarsia piece, likely dating approximately to the 1970s–1980s, although an exact production date has not been established.
