Beautiful vintage Italian hand-painted ceramic decanter/flask featuring colorful traditional maiolica-style decoration.
This unique piece has a round flattened body with four decorative side handles, a pedestal base, and its original cork stopper. The front features an elaborate fruit arrangement with a classical face motif against a black background, while the reverse is decorated with hand-painted pink, blue, orange, and green florals.
The underside is stamped “MAIOLICHE – DERUTA” and is also marked “PRODUCED AND HAND PAINTED IN ITALY.” Deruta, Italy is especially well known for its long tradition of hand-painted maiolica pottery.
Approximately 9 inches tall and about 8 inches wide at the widest point including the handles.
