## Vintage Kerr Glass Corporate Payroll / Transit Security Bag

Up for sale is a fantastic piece of mid-century California industrial history. This is a heavy-duty, authentic vintage canvas and leather registered security pouch used by the famous **Kerr Glass Manufacturing Corporation** (renowned for their vintage Mason and canning jars).
The front of the canvas features crisp, original handwritten vintage provenance marking it for **"KERR GLASS"**, initials **"A.D.S."**, and a direct instruction to **"RETURN TO PAYROLL."** It was originally used to securely transport cash wages, checks, or sensitive financial ledgers between offices and the factory floor.
### Manufacturer & Design Features:
* **Maker's Stamp:** The top leather flap is clearly stamped: *"C.A. HOFFMAN & SON MFRS. ARLINGTON, CAL."* (A historic area of Riverside, CA known for high-quality utility and duty leather goods).
* **Security Mechanism:** Features a heavy-duty leather closure with vertical slits that fit over a row of industrial metal D-rings. A locking bar or padlock (not included) would slide through the rings to seal the bag during transit.
* **Construction:** Thick, rugged off-white canvas body with a heavy reinforced leather base, leather top flap, and a riveted leather carrying handle on the bottom.
### Condition:
Excellent vintage, "as-found" industrial condition. The canvas shows a wonderful, authentic patina with light scuffs, dust, and minimal staining consistent with factory or office use. The leather remains sturdy with great color, showing typical light surface wear and cracking appropriate for its age. The manufacturer's stamp is entirely legible. The metal D-rings and rivets are secure with light oxidation.
