Vintage 1960s MYON “King Flam” silver-plated gas lighter, made in France, complete with its original fitted presentation box.
This handsome French lighter features a distinctive vertically ribbed silver-tone finish with gold-tone accents and a hinged top. The original satin-lined case is marked “king flam – Création Myon Paris – Made in France.”
MYON has an interesting history in French lighter manufacturing. Historical records show that the company producing Myon lighters was established in Damprichard, France in 1929. The company produced lighters and other luxury metal goods and later expanded into gas lighters. By the early 1960s, its factory employed approximately 100 people.
The lighter comes with its original green and ivory fitted presentation case, which makes this an especially attractive example for a collector of vintage French smoking accessories and luxury lighters.
Condition: Very good vintage condition, especially considering its age. The lighter presents beautifully overall, with an attractive ribbed finish and gold-tone accents. It shows normal signs of age and previous handling, including some surface wear and patina, with more noticeable age-related oxidation to the interior/mechanism. The original fitted presentation case is also in very good vintage condition with some expected age-related wear. Lighter has not been tested for operation and is being sold as-is.
