Up for sale is an authentic, original vintage Marathon Endurance Motor Oil 1-Quart Metal Can. This is a fantastic piece of mid-century petroliana featuring Marathon\'s iconic \"Pheidippides / Running Man\" logo alongside their classic corporate slogan, \"Best in the Long Run.\"This particular piece was manufactured by The Ohio Oil Company, firmly dating it prior to 1962 when the corporation officially rebranded to Marathon Oil Co. The top lid is original and clearly stamped with the heavy SAE 40 oil grade.Condition Details:Graphics & Text: The red, white, and black lithograph paint retains very nice contrast and legibility, making it an excellent shelf-display piece.Patina & Wear: The can shows honest wear from age, including paint chipping near the upper rim, light scratching, and surface oxidation/rust along the soldered seam and lids. The bottom lid retains much of its original clean metallic finish.Drainage: The can is completely empty and dry.
