Historical Context of Your Pen
• The Grey-Pearl Celluloid: This specific "grey-pearl" (grigio perla) marbled celluloid is widely considered one of Omas' absolute masterpieces of material design. It features alternating layers of shimmering silvery-grey and deep black, giving it an almost 3D depth when rotated in the light.
• The 12-Faceted Body: Omas' 12-sided design was heavily inspired by classic Italian architecture (resembling Doric columns). Machining this out of unstable celluloid required incredible precision, which is why these pens are so highly regarded by vintage collectors today.
• The Brevetto Imprint: The Brevetto 445846 patent stamp on the barrel refers to Omas' refined piston-filling mechanism of that era. Unlike many modern converters, this built-in piston allows the pen to draw a massive amount of ink directly into the celluloid barrel.
