Beautiful vintage OTCO Italian porcelain covered urn featuring a classical cameo portrait, cobalt blue accents, colorful floral decoration and extensive gold trim.
This vintage OTCO piece is believed to date to the 1970s, making it approximately 50 years old. Made in Italy, it reflects the ornate neoclassical and Capodimonte-style decorative porcelain that was popular in Italian export ware during this period.
The urn has an elegant pedestal form with a square base, fluted lower body, classical portrait medallion on the front and floral decoration on the reverse. The fitted lid is finished in deep cobalt blue with a bright gold finial and gold banding throughout.
The underside is clearly marked “OTCO – Made in Italy.”
OTCO produced decorative Italian porcelain in a variety of classical and Capodimonte-style forms, making this a very attractive piece for collectors of Italian porcelain, cameo décor and vintage European decorative arts.
Measures approximately 5" tall with the lid in place and approximately 3.25" tall without the lid.
Excellent vintage condition. No cracks, chips or breaks. The floral decoration, cobalt color and gold detailing remain exceptionally well preserved with the gold still present throughout.
