·Thisis a remarkable and unique vintage hand-crafted piece of Oberammergau EuropeanFolk Art made between the 1930’s and 1950’s. It was both hand carved and handpainted with great detail. This intriguing Old-World figurine was masterfullycreated by local artisans from Oberammergau, Bavaria, Germany, who have followeda tradition of refined workmanship passed down through families for centuries.These little masterpieces are highly valued & collectible.
·Thisstriking piece depicts the Madonna in gold-highlighted flowing robes holdingthe Christ child.
·Itwas purchased from a collection at an Estate Sale that was accumulated during Europeantravels between 1932 through 1955. It is marked (stamped) on the bottom.
·Itis in very good vintage condition – I found no notable flaws. It is approx. 5”tall.
