Offered is a Vintage (Pre-Pro) STAR UNION BRW'G. CO. PERU, ILL. Amber Qt. Beer Bottle. The Star Union Trade Mark is bold and very readable. The numbers 14 2 are embossed on the base at the back of the bottle. There are no bottle manufacturer marks on the bottom (indicating early manufacture?). There are continuous seamsalong the sides of the bottlefeaturing raised lines that run all the way from the base through the very top of the lip, indicating this bottle was made post 1910. Additionally, as is typical with these bottles there is a "2" embossed inside the bottle at the heel. This would place the age of the bottle to the 1910s (pre-prohibition).This behemoth stands 9 1/2" tall with a 2 3/4" diameter base and weighs in at just under 1 lb. It shows wear (you would too if you lived 115 years). There are multiple scratches and worn spots, but no cracks or chips. See pics for more detail.
