Impressive vintage brass Venetian gondola by Ricardo di Venezia, with the maker’s name clearly marked on the gondola. This highly detailed decorative sculpture features a standing gondolier with oar, an elongated and richly ornamented hull, raised scrollwork and geometric decoration, an elaborate passenger seat, and decorative supports.
The brass retains an attractive aged patina with areas of oxidation, darkening and surface wear consistent with age. The intricate casting and unusually large, elaborate construction make this a striking piece of Venetian decorative art and an excellent display piece for a console, mantel, library or collection.
