This substantial stoneware wall-hanging candleholder was designed by Noomi Backhausen and made by the Danish pottery studioSøholm Stentøj, located on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. It dates from the late 1960s to early 1970s. It has been decorated with neutral-color glazes of beige, ivory, green, and brown. They are calming colors. The candleholder will hold one taper candle.
On the back is stampedSøholm Stentøj, Bornholm Denmark, 3220 (the model number). There is also a hole for hanging on the back, near the top. It will need a sturdy nail, as the stoneware is heavy.The candleholder measures about 10 7/8" tall by 5 7/8" wide at its widest point, by 7/8" thick.
