Wonderful vintage Alaska cruise souvenir and dinner-menu booklet from Alaska Cruise Lines, Ltd., associated with the S.S. Yukon Star.
The booklet features numerous beautiful reproductions of sled-dog portraits by noted Alaska artist Josephine Crumrine, including named dogs such as Buzzard, Smokey, Cheechako, Rye, Maceik, and others.
In addition to the colorful dog portraits, the booklet contains illustrated Alaska scenes and historical/travel information, including Denali (Mt. McKinley), Ports of Call, The Golden Land, Alaska scenery and cruise information.
Also included are period dinner menu pages, including one specifically identifying the S.S. Yukon Star, with period dishes such as Alaska salmon and other selections.
Josephine Crumrine became particularly known for her portraits of Alaska sled dogs, and her artwork was reproduced on menus and souvenir material associated with Alaska steamship travel.
