Vintage SPI brass / bronze mice on cheese bookends.
These decorative items depict two studious little mice sitting atop wedges of Swiss cheese while deeply engrossed in reading books.
These heavy, cast-metal bookends were produced by SPI Home (San Pacific International), an established maker of home accents and sculptures.
They are crafted from heavy cast brass or bronze, featuring a rich dark bronze patina finish.
The texturing realistically captures both the porous texture of Swiss cheese and the long, sweeping tails of the mice wrapping around the bases.
Dimensions: 5.5 inches high and 4 inches wide.
Note: The internal cement was loose and crumbling so I removed it. I salvaged the fabric for the SPI label, and for buyer to reference if you care to add a new felt or similar bottom..
