This plate is a mi-to-late 20th century vintage reproduction of the traditional Japanese Imari porcelain, most commonly produced and exported under the brand name shogun dynasty.
The design originates from Arita Japan, the birthplace of Japanese porcelain. In the 17th century, these wares were exported to the west via the port Imari, which is how the style got it\'s name. This plate features the classic hallmarks of Imari ware.
A combination of underglaze cobalt blue, rust-orange/red enamels, and bright gold detailing. A Bird of Paradise perched next to a large blooming peony, which traditionally symbolizes properity, good fotune and beauty.
